Welcome to The Red Lion
The Red Lion is a beautiful 200-year-old pub nestled in the small village of Stodmarsh, just 10 minutes walk from the Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve and 5 miles from Canterbury City Centre. We reopened to the delight of our neighbours and, with a lot of hard work and dedication from our wonderful team, the pub has become a destination of its own. We back British Farming wherever possible, relying on seasonal and local produce for our beautiful dishes and are renowned for our roast dinners every Sunday. We also support other local businesses for ciders, beers and other fresh produce, including our weekly cakes. Hosting numerous events throughout the year including the Farmers Hoedown, local music and charity events and quizzes, we're very proud of The Red Lion and can't wait to welcome you!

A great experience. First visit under the new owners and was not disappointed. A warm welcome, comfortable setting and hasn’t been ‘done up’ which can ruin atmosphere. Happily miss-matching wooden tables and chairs. Small selection of wine but decent and reasonably priced. Good honest food that was hard to choose from as all sounded delicious. We had such a lovely evening and look forward to returning. We walked there through the nature reserve which was well worth doing.

The Red Lion is a great place to stay for birdwatchers. Stodmarsh Nature Reserve is a few minutes away and has several well maintained hides and footpaths. The Red Lion is in a tranquil hamlet with a warm welcome from Sarah and her staff, two comfortable rooms and good food. We enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon.

Cosy & welcoming! Super friendly staff and gorgeous, fluffy fish and crispy chips! It was a chilly day and my back against a low radiator was snug & cosy! A lovely, country pub.
